For the children who live here, and for the elephants they grow up beside.
In Aek Nauli, near Lake Toba, two things are growing side by side. A small English class where more than 30 children meet in a simple hut several afternoons a week. And an elephant sanctuary being rebuilt from the ground up around a single principle: elephants are here to be understood, not to be ridden.
Neither is a finished project. Both are worth supporting now.
Two ways to be part of this
The English class needs volunteers who speak English well and can stay long enough to be useful. And the sanctuary needs support to keep changing — quietly, and for the better.
